In my professional life, I run my own contracting company, Arntzen Software AS, a Norwegian private company since 2018. For business inquiries, please contact post@arntzen-software.no. We are fully remote. My schedule is quite busy for the foreseeable future.
I have deep expertise in programming GPUs, whether it is for graphics programming techniques, difficult debugging or implementing compute algorithms forged over 15 years of experience.
As secondary skillsets, I have solid experience with Digital Signal Processing, GPU shader IRs and practical applications of video compression.
My responsibilities are currently:
- Lead the development of vkd3d-proton, a D3D12 to Vulkan translation layer, shipped as part of Valve’s Proton project.
- Support and debug the latest big PC game releases on Linux which tend to be D3D12 running in Proton.
- Lead the development of dxil-spirv, a DXIL to SPIR-V translation used by vkd3d-proton.
- Develop and maintain Mesa‘s window system integration code.
- Maintain Fossilize, a system used by Steam to distribute pre-compiled shaders.
- Maintain SPIRV-Cross, SPIR-V to high level language translation, which I have worked on for 10+ years.
I do not use AI in my work as I do not believe in delivering sub-par quality work.
